BOOK REVIEW: Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
BOOK REVIEW:
Okay on a real note, I don't get the hype. Yes, there were parts I enjoyed. However, as a whole. I probably would not read it again. It was like a rollercoaster for me, there were some parts where I was incredibly invested and was in complete shock, but also times where I could not get myself to focus on it for the life of me.
I liked the romance between the two main characters, the hidden love was very Romeo and Juliette. It definitely helped me stay involved and interested, especially because of the fact that it was during Medieval Times and being gay was not something to share, The other parts, though, we're a little meh for me. I really wanted to love it and get the hype, but I just couldn't get myself to.
Overall, there is nothing I have against the book. I can see how it can be enjoyable for some, just not the book for me. I do admire the author for their creativity! I would probably not encourage nor discourage others to read it.
