BOOK REVIEW: The 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

This book took an entirely different route than I thought it would and I am not mad about it. I really enjoyed this one. It was a great read, honestly. Evelyns character was fascinating. As the story was being told, I felt like it was real life. The author talks about some really heavy topics but sneaks them in a way that make the reader feel educated. I love it.

Its nice to read a book that is written in the 60's and also talks about human rights and how different things were then. The fact that she was bisexual and went almost her entire life trying to hide it really makes you think. I felt as though I could feel all of Evelyn's emotions and I was there with her.

It was also amazing how she included the part about her being Cuban and trying to hide that part of her identity as well. Evelyn Hugo was this entirely fake person and she conviced herself that she was and could be her, later learning she could not. The message in this book was really awesome to read and understand for myself. Read this! You wont regret it. (The plot twist at the end also had me audibly gasping).
