BOOK REVIEW: A Court of Mist and Fury
Holy cow. This book was a ROLLERCOASTER. A friend warned me that the last 100 pages of her books are where stuff starts to go off the rails, and she was not lying.
This book was definitely a slow burn for me the first few hundred pages, and truthfully, I don't think it needed to be almost 650 pages. I got bored at times, and some of it felt unnecessary, but at the same time, I felt like I really got to know Rhysand in this book and fell in love with him. I love that we got to see more of his vulnerability. By the end of the book, I was completely in love with him.
Let me tell you, the last 100-150 pages, my eyes could not read fast enough. I could not believe the plot twist with the queens wanting to become Fae. It was also heartbreaking to read about her sisters being forced into the cauldron. I was so incredibly impressed with how creative SJM got towards the end of this book. The scheme with Tamlin and her secretly being High Lady was something I was NOT prepared for.
I cannot wait to read the 3rd. I was so completely shocked by the end of this book I could barely fall asleep. I needed 3 business days to process what happened.
